Vortex Talon HD 10K 12x50 - Ballistic Rangefinding Binoculars GeoBallistics

Overview

The Vortex Talon® HD 10K 12x50 is a ballistic rangefinding binocular designed for hunters and precision shooters operating at long distances. It combines a long-range laser rangefinder, an integrated GeoBallistics ballistic solver, and onboard environmental sensors to deliver a complete shooting solution directly in the eyepiece. Whether in the mountains, on the plains, or at a long-range shooting range, this single instrument replaces several accessories.

Technical Specifications

• Ranging distance: up to 10,000 yards (approx. 9,144 m) on reflective targets, up to 2,600 yards on game, and up to 4,200 yards on trees - a range that covers nearly all hunting and sport shooting scenarios
• Magnification: 12x with a 50 mm objective lens for a bright image even in low-light conditions
• Field of view: 272 feet at 1000 yards, for quick spotting of game or target
• Measurement accuracy: ±1 m, essential for reliable ballistic calculations
• GeoBallistics ballistic solver: calculates real-time wind and drift corrections, with customizable ballistic profiles and a built-in shot card generator
• Onboard sensors: temperature, pressure, humidity, compass, and inclination, automatically fed to the ballistic engine
• Red OLED display with active matrix, self-leveling, readable in daylight as well as at dusk
• Power supply: CR2 battery
• Waterproofing: IPX7 certified, argon-purged housing sealed with O-rings - shock-resistant, waterproof, and fog-proof
• Weight: approximately 1.34 kg (2 lb 15.2 oz)

Benefits

• A single instrument replaces binoculars, rangefinder, and ballistic calculator - less weight and gear to carry on approach
• Dedicated Rain/Fog mode that maintains ranging reliability even in bad weather, a valuable asset in the changeable climate of the Swiss Alps
• Bluetooth connectivity with the GeoBallistics app to fine-tune your ammunition profiles and sync your data with the Vortex Relay ecosystem
• HD glass with XR Plus multi-coatings offering top-level optical contrast and brightness, roof prism design for a compact footprint
• Can be used standalone without a smartphone, with an onboard menu users find intuitive

Use and Maintenance

Clean the lenses with a microfiber cloth and a product suitable for anti-reflective coatings, avoiding any harsh solvents. Store the device in its case after use to preserve the sealing gaskets, and replace the CR2 battery at the first signs of display weakness to ensure the accuracy of the ballistic calculation. Thanks to its argon-purged housing, the Talon HD 10K withstands the demanding outdoor conditions found both on the hunting ground and at the shooting range.
