Hydration

Drinking, and carrying what you drink. The department brings together Nalgene bottles, including the one litre narrow-mouth Sustain and the 32 ounce Mil-Spec Monkey version, plus one litre wide-mouth bottles. A wide mouth takes ice and cleans by hand, a narrow mouth drinks on the move without spilling: that is the first criterion, ahead of capacity. BPA-free polymer bottles take poured boiling water, which not every hiking container does. Hydration bladders and their tubes are filed with the packs that carry them, in the luggage department.
