About Cookies

Pointbreak sets two cookies that are strictly necessary for the shop to work, and a third one only if you tick "Remember me" when signing in. To improve the site, we also use Microsoft Clarity, an audience measurement tool from Microsoft that may set its own cookies (section 2.2); you can object to it. We use no advertising or social media cookies.

1. What is a Cookie?

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit a website. Cookies allow the site to remember your preferences and improve your browsing experience.

Important: Cookies cannot access your files or install software on your device. They only contain information related to your browsing.

2. Cookies We Use

The first two cookies in section 2.1 are set on your first visit, because neither the cart nor checkout can work without them. The third one is only set if you ask for it. These three cookies are set by our own site and serve no purpose other than the one described here. The audience measurement cookies of Microsoft Clarity are described in section 2.2.

2.1 Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for the site to work. They are not used to track you and are not shared with anyone.

Session cookie (pointbreakch_session)

Purpose: Keep your session during your visit: your cart, the language you chose, your progress through checkout and, if you are signed in, your account. The cookie only holds a random identifier; the session data stays on our server.

Duration: 120 minutes after your last action on the site (it remains valid if you close your browser before that time)

Type: First party (set by our site)

Security cookie (XSRF-TOKEN)

Purpose: Protect your actions on the site (adding to the cart, submitting a form) against forged requests from another site (CSRF protection). It only holds a security token.

Duration: 120 minutes after your last action on the site (it remains valid if you close your browser before that time)

Type: First party (set by our site)

Sign-in cookie (remember_web_59ba36addc2b2f9401580f014c7f58ea4e30989d)

Purpose: Keep you signed in to your customer account from one visit to the next, without typing your password again. It only contains an identifier of your account and security tokens, encrypted; it serves no other purpose.

Set: only if you tick "Remember me" when signing in; it is deleted when you sign out

Duration: 30 days, unless you sign out before

Type: First party (set by our site)

2.2 Audience measurement: Microsoft Clarity

To understand how the site is used and to improve it, Pointbreak uses Microsoft Clarity, a service of Microsoft Corporation, on all its pages, including the administration area. Clarity measures audience and records visits in anonymised form: pages viewed, clicks, scrolling and mouse movements. Text typed into form fields is masked by Clarity before anything is sent. Clarity may set the two cookies below.

Measurement cookie (_clck)

Purpose: Recognise your browser from one visit to the next by a random identifier specific to our site.

Duration: 1 year

Type: First party (set on our domain by the Microsoft Clarity script)

Measurement session cookie (_clsk)

Purpose: Link the pages viewed during one visit into a single session.

Duration: 1 day

Type: First party (set on our domain by the Microsoft Clarity script)

Microsoft may also set its own cookies on its own domains (for example MUID or CLID), under its privacy statement: https://privacy.microsoft.com/en-gb/privacystatement

The data collected is processed by Microsoft, which may process it outside Switzerland and the European Union, in particular in the United States. It is used only to improve the site: we do not use it for advertising or to build a profile of you.

To object, block or delete the cookies of pointbreak.ch and clarity.ms in your browser settings (section 3), or use a content blocker that blocks clarity.ms. The site keeps working normally without Clarity.

2.3 What we do not use

No advertising, ad profiling or social media cookies. Apart from Microsoft Clarity (section 2.2), no third party sets cookies through our site. Should we ever use others, this page would be updated beforehand.

Some features, when you use them (for example the wishlist), save a preference in your browser's storage. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us.

3. Manage or delete cookies

3.1 Via Your Browser

You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies:

Google Chrome

Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies

Firefox

Options → Privacy and Security → Cookies

Safari

Preferences → Privacy → Cookies

Microsoft Edge

Settings → Privacy → Cookies

Warning: If you block the session cookie or the security cookie, the cart and checkout no longer work.

4. Retention Duration

The session cookie and the security cookie expire 120 minutes after your last action on the site. You can delete them at any time from your browser. The sign-in cookie, set only if you ticked "Remember me", expires after 30 days or as soon as you sign out. The Microsoft Clarity cookies expire after 1 year (_clck) and 1 day (_clsk).

5. Your Rights

You have the following rights:

  • Right to delete cookies via your browser
  • Right to be clearly and transparently informed
  • Right to object to audience measurement by Microsoft Clarity, by blocking its cookies or script (section 2.2)
