Overview
With the T-Series, Blackhawk sets a new standard in mechanically secured tactical holsters. The L2C (Level 2 Compact) model is the lightest version in the range: an outside-the-waistband (OWB) holster designed for a fast, smooth and secure draw, suited to both security professionals and demanding sport shooters in Switzerland.
The retention system combines adjustable passive retention with active thumb-released retention: the weapon stays firmly secured during a fall, while running, or in close combat, yet releases naturally as part of the grip motion. The natural thumb placement disengages the mechanism, ensuring an intuitive movement that is easy to learn and identical across all T-Series models.
Technical Specifications
- Level 2 Retention: adjustable passive retention combined with an active thumb-release lock, for optimal security against weapon loss or grab
- Material: ultra-durable injection-molded polymer, both rugged and very lightweight, requiring no special maintenance
- Low-friction interior: exceptionally smooth internal finish with sound-dampening effect, for a smooth and discreet draw and reholster
- Open-top design: reduces weight, allows the muzzle to clear earlier, and accommodates most red dot sights
- Enhanced security: protected release mechanism and close-to-body carry limiting access by a third party
- Included platforms: adjustable belt platform and latest-generation T-Lock for easy, tool-free platform changes
- Compatibility: Glock 17/22/31/34/35, Glock 19/23/26/27 and Glock 43/43X, in right- or left-handed versions
- Manufacturing: made in the USA
Advantages
- Fast, natural draw: release is performed with the thumb as part of the grip motion itself, with no extra step to learn
- A single training for the entire range: all T-Series models work on the same principle, reducing training costs for teams and institutions
- Lightweight and compact: the L2C format minimizes bulk for concealed carry, outside-the-waistband carry, or on a duty belt
- Long-lasting durability: the injection-molded polymer withstands field conditions and requires virtually no maintenance
- Red dot ready: compatible with most reflex sights thanks to its open-top design
- Carry versatility: quick, tool-free platform swap thanks to the included T-Lock
Use and Maintenance
Adjust the passive retention to your preference before first use and practice the thumb release motion unloaded until it becomes reflexive. The polymer body requires no special maintenance: occasional cleaning with clear water and a soft cloth is sufficient. Regularly check that the retention mechanism functions properly and that the carry platform is securely attached.
Note: the term "thumb" refers to the thumb-release system; the L2C model corresponds to the Level 2 Compact in the Blackhawk T-Series range.
